Respecto a las concesiones a particulares las m?s importantes fueron las otorgadas para construir v?as internacionales e interoce?nicas a compaas de c apital norteamericano, concesiones que fueron vistas como peligrosas para la integridad nacional; perjudiciales por desviar el tr?fico hacia Estados Unidos, por representar un monopolio y por quedar sometida la naci?n a una influencia que pod?a tornarse amenazante. Una vez vencida la resistencia parlamentaria, el gobierno otorg? en 1880 concesi?n a la empresa constructora del ferrocarril central, a la constructora nacional y a la del ferrocarril de Sonora para que unieran las v?as norteamericanas con las mexicanas.
